Information for Saloon Girl and Can Can Dancer Pattern

Saloon Girl

also Can Can, Dance Hall, Carnival and Circus performer

Above photo shows Laughing Moon's samples
Can Can with hat and stockings, Saloon Girl with drape, bustle and overskirt.
Our sample is shown below. Worn to Costume Con. 19 in Calgary, May 2001
Theme for the night was "Cosmic Cowboy"

The bodice is made of #99-2260-90 velvet that has undergone the Discharge process to allow us to paint color details in. It was then backed with 74-1141-01 coutil to give more body and assist in the support of the beads, pearls and sequins that were sewn on. All edges were piped with silk habotai that had been dyed, with the crinoline fabrics, to purple. The centre front closing is hook and eye tape #91-706E-90 & 91-706H-90 and the sleeves were cut from the same fabric as the skirt, a shimmery, inexpensive black fabric from a local fabric sale table.
